Kirstie qualified at the British School of Osteopathy, bringing with her a long career in sport and remedial massage and over a decade as Senior Lecturer at the North London School of Sports Massage. She also holds a B.A. in Psychology, a background that informs the way she approaches each patient and the factors that contribute to their presentation. That grounding in movement, anatomy and hands-on bodywork shaped the way she approaches osteopathic practice – thorough, structural, and attentive to the whole person rather than only the presenting complaint.

Her post-graduate training spans a wide range of disciplines. Alongside structural and cranial osteopathy, she has trained in visceral, vascular and neural manipulation, lymphatic approaches, pelvic health, women’s health and paediatrics, as well as rehabilitation, kinesio taping and specialised soft-tissue work. She is also a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, a method focused on movement awareness that she draws on alongside her osteopathic work.

The defining thread of Kirstie’s continuing development has been her study with Jean Pierre Barral, one of the world’s foremost osteopathic innovators. She has studied with Barral for over twenty years and is one of a very small number of practitioners in the UK to hold the Barral Institute Diplomate credential, certified in both Visceral Manipulation (CVMP) and Neural Manipulation (CNMP). These are rare specialisms in UK osteopathic practice, addressing the mobility of the body’s internal organs and nervous system respectively.

That expertise has led to an international teaching career. Kirstie was invited to join the Barral Institute’s teaching faculty and lectures in the UK and internationally in Visceral Manipulation and Barral and Crobier’s Manual Articular Approach. She has also taught on the International Programme of the European School of Osteopathy and for the Rollin E Becker Institute.

In practice, Kirstie has worked with professional athletes, musicians and performers alongside patients managing everyday occupational, injury-related and age-related pain. She takes a thorough approach to each case, looking at what has contributed to a problem rather than only where it presents, and works with patients on home care and rehabilitation programmes to support progress between sessions.

Outside the clinic, Kirstie stays active through cycling, swimming and running, and has a longstanding interest in trekking, travel and photography.
